In genral, EPS used in construction has large effect as a buffer for the falling rocks. This is caused by a deformable material. However, it is a fault that EPS is finely crushed by the falling rocks and the range of the spread on the impact force is narrow.
New EPS reinforced by the plastic strap for packing is developed and tested.

for a boulder used to design will be half.
(2) The Impact force spreads widely.
(3) The buffer performance hardly changes
even if the rock falls repeatedly.
(4) New EPS is not finely crushed by a falling
rock.
(5) The impact force can be controlled by
adjusting the mesh interval.
(6) It is also available to an excessive
falling rock more than the design load because New EPS behaves elastically.
